Capacity estimator
How big a treatment plant do you need?
Enter the number of people using your building for an early estimate, then see how it compares with sewage treatment plants we have delivered.
Adjust water use
108 KLD
estimated sewage per day (kilolitres)
- 135 KLD water used
- 80% becomes sewage
- 108 KLD to treat
| Plant | Capacity in KLD |
|---|
For early planning only, not a design figure. Starts from 135 litres per person per day (CPHEEO guidance) and assumes 80% becomes sewage. Actual capacity depends on occupancy, peak flows and consent conditions.

How much rain could your roof collect?
Choose your district and roof, and see how much rainwater falls on it in a normal year and when it arrives.
463 kilolitres a year
- m² roof
- mm
- % runs off
| Season | Kilolitres |
|---|
For early planning only. This is rain reaching the roof in a normal year; what you can use depends on tank size, filtration and rainfall that year.
How this is calculated
Roof area × normal rainfall × runoff coefficient. Rainfall: India Meteorological Department normals, from Tamil Nadu’s statistical handbook 2016-17. Runoff: concrete 0.70, tiled 0.75, asbestos 0.80 and metal sheet 0.90, values attributed to the Central Ground Water Board’s manual. People served assumes 135 litres per person per day.
Live air quality
The air in Tamil Nadu, right now.
Latest readings from official monitoring stations. Choose a city to see which pollutants are driving its air quality.
AQI
| Pollutant | AQI score |
|---|
How this is calculated
Each station’s AQI is its worst pollutant score, and the city figure averages its stations, so it can be higher than any bar. Calculated by us, so it may differ slightly from published figures.
